New EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation

Starting on 12 August 2026, the EU is introducing strict new rules for packaging, called the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR)
The PPWR is a law designed to reduce global waste by forcing companies to take financial responsibility for recycling the packaging they send abroad. While the goal is great for the planet, the implementation makes it incredibly difficult for small shops to survive internationally. The current legal framework makes it financially impossible for a small shop like this to open doors to every country sustainably. That is why i'm currently only shipping to the following EU countries: Belgium, The Netherlands and Germany

Why i currently cannot ship to other EU countries:

Country-by-country registrations:

EU laws require brands to legally register and pay an environmental license fee in each individual country they ship to. Some countries even require to hire a local 'Authorised Representative', adding substantial service and notary fees.

High Fixed Fees:

These registration costs are flat fees. For a large corporation, these costs are minor. For a small business shipping only a few packages a year to a specific country, the compliance fees are often much higher than the actual value of the clothes i sell.

Complex Administration:

Managing different recycling systems and reporting paperwork across 27 EU countries requires massive administrative effort, which, for a small one-persone business is just too much to handle on top of every other aspect that comes with running a handmade clothing brand.
